Name Recombinant Human Neuritin (E. coli)
Description Neuritin is known to play an important role in promoting neuronal survival, differentiation, function, and repair. The expression of Neuritin can be induced in response to neural activity and neurotrophins. NRN1 promotes neurite outgrowth and arborization, especially branching of neuritic processes in primary hippocampal and cortical cells, suggesting its role in promoting neuritogenesis. Overexpression of NRN1 may be associated with astrocytoma progression. Recombinant human Neuritin is a covalently disulfide-linked homodimer, consisting of two 9.8 kDa polypeptide monomers.
Organism Human (H. sapiens)
Unit quantity 20 µg
Family Neuritin/NGF-β/NOTCH Families
Aliases NRN, dJ380B8.2
Gene Symbol NRN1
Gene ID 51299
Accession Number Q9NPD7
Source E. coli
Species Human (H. sapiens)
Appearance Lyophilized Powder
Molecular Weight 10.4 kDa
Endotoxin Level <1.0 EU/µg of recombinant protein as determined by the LAL method.
Purity >95% as determined by SDS-PAGE
Formulation Lyophilized from a 0.2 µm filtered solution in PBS, pH 7.4
Function N.A.
Reconstitution A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitution in sterile distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers.
Storage The lyophilized protein is stable for at least one year from date of receipt at -70°C. Upon reconstitution, this cytokine can be stored in working aliquots at 2° - 8°C for one month, or at -20°C for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Usage For research use only. Not for diagnostic or therapeutic use.
