Dissociation Reagents

Dissociation reagents are used to detach adherent cells or cell colonies from culture vessels during cell harvesting and passaging. Different formulations provide varying levels of dissociation strength, allowing researchers to select an appropriate reagent based on cell type, culture conditions, and sensitivity to dissociation.

abm offers a range of cell dissociation reagents, including Trypsin-EDTA, Gentle Dissociation Solution, Ultra-Gentle Cell Detachment Solution, and StemRelease™ for routine cell culture and specialized applications. StemRelease™ is an enzyme-free reagent designed for the gentle dissociation and routine passaging of human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs), including iPSCs and ESCs.

Trypsin Neutralizing Solution

Trypsin Neutralizing Solution is used following trypsin-based cell dissociation to stop residual trypsin activity. It helps minimize prolonged exposure to trypsin and unwanted protein degradation, supporting cell viability and recovery after dissociation.

Trypsin-based dissociation reagents should be neutralized according to the product-specific protocol. Non-trypsin dissociation reagents may have different handling or neutralization requirements depending on their formulation.
