Name Recombinant Human PTHLH/PTHrP (E. coli)
Description

PTHLH is a member of the parathyroid hormone family which regulates endochondral bone development and epithelial-mesenchymal interactions during the formation of the mammary glands and teeth via its receptor, PTHR1. In most cases of humoral hypercalcemia of malignancy, PTHLH is responsible. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene and mutations in this gene are also associated with brachydactyly type E2 (BDE2). Furthermore, evidence have been found for alternative translation initiation from non-AUG (CUG and GUG) start sites, downstream of the initiator AUG codon, resulting in nuclear forms of this hormone.

Organism Human (H. sapiens)
Unit quantity 20 µg
Family Other Growth Factors/Cytokines
Aliases BDE2, HHM, PLP, PTHR, PTHRP
Gene Symbol PTHLH
Gene ID 5744
Accession Number P12272
Source E. coli
Species Human (H. sapiens)
Appearance Lyophilized Powder
Molecular Weight 10.2 kDa
Endotoxin Level <1.0 EU/µg of recombinant protein as determined by the LAL method
Purity

>95% as determined by SDS-PAGE

Formulation Lyophilized from 0.2 μm filtered solution in PBS
Function The ED(50) was determined by the dose-dependent proliferation of Immortalized Human Endometrial Stromal Cells (HESC) and was found to be <0.05ng/mL.
Reconstitution A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitution in distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers.
Storage The lyophilized protein is stable for at least one year from date of receipt at -70°C. Upon reconstitution, this cytokine can be stored in working aliquots at 2° - 8°C for one month, or at -20°C for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
